Original Character - Jumbo Elephant

Jumbo Elephant is a huge grappler character that works off a 4 button layout.

Oh yes, working in MUGEN 1.0 now. Thanks, that was quick.

Really like this OC char, design reminds me of old WWE wrestler Yokozuna.

Some feedback...

 - p2 binding in the throws (p.e. Trunk Throwdown norma & EX version, Jumbo Buster) is off

Congrats on your first release buddy! I have some findings so far.

PROS:
-Jumbo is beautifully sprited and animated
-Combobility is fun and enjoyable

CONS:
-Blue hitboxes need to be tightened, a lot of unnecessary extra room to hit him with
-Damage output is too high. I understand he's supposed to be slow but strong type but its still too high for that. Hk, Hk, QCF+k combo pulled off 566 damage as an example.
-Light kick doesn't seem to register on the hitcount for some reason
-J+down HP feels the same as the HK version, just no special win animation and a bit weaker
-A few stateno's have repeating sounds which shouldn't repeat, such as the final butt slam on the super
-P2animations aren't made very compatible with small characters, using only the floor bound sprites (5000,0 , 5010,0 , 5030,0 etc) when mid and head sprites would have been better like the, Anti-air trunk grab and the special winko anim.
-Animation 5040's first frame is blank and infinite

I will keep playing about with him to see what more I can find. Still an awesome start!

Man that's awesome. My only gripe would be the sprites could be cleaner around the edges.

Do your best to become stronger. Become stronger, so you can do your best.

Mugen is a way for me to remain nostalgic with all of the dream matches I cooked up as a kid. It's also what I call a "Digital Action Figure Collection."

I tweaked the grabs bindings and adjusted some moves damage last night.  The download link is the same.

I really do like this fighter, a sumo elephant, that's genius. I laughed so darn hard at the finisher, my drink spewed out. This is a real quality character. Congrats on your first character and we hope to see more from you.

He's very cool.  Good job!!  As stated before it would be great if you could clean up the edges a bit.  I might even take a stab at it, because I have an idea for a script in Photoshop that could do possibly do 99% of the work.  Let me know if you are interested.  No guarantees.

I'm particularly impressed with the custom Win Pose.  I figured how to do this awhile back and even wrote a tutorial (in Code Library section), but I am surprised with how you were able to do it in a much less complicated fashion.  I did not think to send the enemy to a "transitional state" before sending him to a customized 5150 to end the match.  In my tutorial the enemy goes straight into the custom state 5150, making it more complicated to manage the custom coding for the enemy, as well as player 1 when losing.

I will probably be changing up the coding for my character (and in my tutorial) thanks to you! :)


I love the effect of the flattened enemy.  If you are still adding to this character, perhaps when the enemy gets flattened (from a non-lethal butt attack) you could have the enemy get lifted off the ground as Jumbo stands, and use  a low velocity + AngleDraw rotations to make the player "float" back to the ground like a piece of paper.

I'm am interested in that script since this is my first character I didn't know how to create clean sprites.  So i just drew normally. 

The custom win pose was an idea I had that Ra lord refined and actually got working.  So praise him for that.  The version I coded had to time out on the win screen before he showed me how to get past that.

I do like the idea of a paper thin enemy floating down.  i may use it on the refined butt bump i'm giving him to tone him down a bit.

I saw!  The results look pretty good.  I've been lazy but I kinda just wanted to do the rim of his sprites with a binary brush in the future.  To clean them up.   I really appreciate the edit to the sprites and I couldn't respond via PM cuz I haven't been around here long.

I'm flattered that you liked my character!  I am working on another one that I hope will have cleaner and more fluidly animated sprites.
